Kirsty Madigan is an Australian visual artist whose practice explores the tension between human expansion and the natural world. Her work reflects on environmental change, examining how ecosystems are reshaped by climate impact, domestication, and the human impulse to control and occupy space.
Through surreal imagery and unexpected juxtapositions, she constructs worlds in which boundaries between human and non-human spaces begin to dissolve. Wildlife appears within domestic and urban environments, while natural forms adapt in response to disruption—prompting questions around ownership, coexistence, and environmental responsibility.
Kirsty works primarily paints in oils or acrylics, often incorporating detailed depictions of flora and fauna to anchor her imagined landscapes in the real world.
